WEDNESDAY AUGUST 2
Pre-tournament COMBINE run by Tony Azevedo, Adam Wright and Olympic coaches.
A Combine is combination of certain sport specific conditioning drills to determine speed, strength and skill level.
Each individual will be evaluated completing 6-8 water polo specific drills (and filmed with the Watlicam underwater camera). Athletes will also be measured (height, arm span, hand size etc.).
Side note: all this data will also be entered into Tony's new Combine website/app (that will eventually be similar to the NFL scouting Combine). Tony will continue to monitor athletes at his different events and update the Combine accordingly.
Starting at 10am, teams will come in every 1/2 hour for evaluation. Schedule will be emailed to coaches and to the parents of individual athletes.
Location: The COVE, downtown Long Beach
When: Wednesday, August 2, 5:30- 7:30pm
What: The COVE is an incredible state of the art entertainment complex located outside the Convention Center in downtown Long Beach. The roof lighting makes you feel like you’re under the sea and the walls are covered in murals done by famous local long beach graffiti artists.

THURSDAY AUGUST 3 - SATURDAY AUGUST 5
9am to 4pm: Tournament games will be played (two games per day)
10am to 12pm: Educational interactive workshops; Olympians on-deck for pictures and Q&A
12pm to 1pm: Gourmet buffet lunch catered by Zen Craft
1pm to 4pm: Carnival games (surf simulator, fast pitch and more); live music or DJ - festival like atmosphere + Vendors Village
*Most evenings food trucks will be parked next to the pool following the games so that kids/parents can grab an early and economical dinner or snack.
*Friday evening we will host a VIP Dinner at the Boathouse on the Bay. invitees will include one representatives from each team and other special guests involved in the event.
SUNDAY AUGUST 6
9am to 12:30pm: Final Games played
A closing ceremony with medals, trophies & MVP awards will take place immediately following the final game. There will also be special photo booth where kids can take interactive photos to document new friends and the experience. Music provided.
- Parents and family are welcome but must register beforehand in order to receive wrist bands (4 per athlete): REGISTRATION
- Every day there will be a Vendors Village selling a wide array of interesting products
- HardCore Sport will be selling custom gear on deck daily with the Aquatic Games logo and other unique designs
- VIP lounge tickets will be available for purchase
- All athletes will be provided with a goodie bag at registration
Entrance to the entire event is FREE for coaches. Coaches must email complete rosters for their respective teams to firstname.lastname@example.org. Coaches will receive a free gourmet catered lunch every day during the event except for August 6. Coaches attending the event and staying in a local hotel to chaperone their teams will also receive a discounted hotel price.
As mentioned above, parents and family members are welcome to participate at any time in the event, but must be registered in order to receive a wristband at check-in. ONLINE PARENT REGISTRATION
